The End of the World, Clive James and Sustainable MoralityThe Australian journalist and TV presenter, Clive James, made a wonderful documentary perhaps 15 years ago in which he investigated various problems that governments were having in diverse countries all over the world. The common finding of his documentary was that for every problem there was an academic somewhere in the troubled land that had a very reasonable sounding solution to the problem. But then none of the politicians in that land were prepared to implement his solution. Clive interviewed both the academics and the politicians. Rephrasing this. Democracy produces governments which are either incapable of solving our problems or refuse to solve them for political reasons. Rephrasing this again. Governments do not solve our problems. That is bad, but manageable if our problems are not too dangerous. However today mankind has at least 3 really dangerous problems. 1. The corruption of the banks is monumental, beyond anything anyone could have imagined. They have bet and lost more money than we have. They effectively took every penny mankind has ever possessed and bet it on red in the Casino every year. For the first few years they made a fortune. But then when they had re-invested everything it came up black. And now they owe more than we can earn. 2. The destruction of our natural resources is already to a point of no return if an immediate turn around with regard to pollution of our air, our water and even our soil is not addressed. The issues of our planetary changes whether natural or enhanced by man are also at a critical juncture. 3. The existence of so many nuclear weapons and the willingness of power crazed governments and the terrorists they produce to kill civilians for political or even personal reasons combines to make the possibility of nuclear terrorism and a nuclear response to such terrorism very real. These problems are so bad that it matters not whether the incompetence theorists have it or the conspiracy theorists have it. Either way the governments will not solve the large problems that face us, because they do not solve anything. They use problems as means of getting more power. George Soros said a few days ago (February 2009) that the world's financial system was on life support and that the present depression has no bottom. But it is worse than that. Our morality is on life support and our moral depravity appears to have no bottom either (if you will pardon the metaphor). But our morality is our only security in the final analysis. We are all as safe as our brother is moral. We have seen with the "banksters" and financial institutions that our brother is financially 100% immoral. Furthermore the public sector response to the financial genocide that bankers have perpetrated is that not a single financial regulator has lost his job, not one politician who abetted this crime nor any treasury department head has resigned and no central banker has been sacked or prosecuted. So we have a 100% corrupt public sector response to a 100% private sector financial immorality. Now do you believe that such a level of public and private sector immorality is entirely localized to the financial sector? We plainly need to start living in a more morally sustainable way. The minimum set of laws that ensure moral sustainability in a society of free willed beings is Christianity in its purest form possible. It is that simple. These laws have been given to us by the Christ and have already been written in the bible. They are essentially... 1. Love God first (since he is the source
of love and sustainable morality and is committed to teach you these things if
you will listen) Let's face it, sustainable morality is not going to be legislated by any democratically elected government. Yet if we fail to adopt just one of the necessary laws for morally sustainable living our society WILL destroy itself. For that is what moral sustainability means. Expecting a Western government to legislate sustainable morality is like expecting a group of nursery school children to construct the human Genome out of ice cream and chocolate without eating any of it. Now you can read this web site and see how moral sustainability works and grasp the laws that will guide mankind's future or you can continue to believe in the convenient lie that everything is going to be OK and politicians are doing their best and that we have muddled through before and we will muddle through again. But actually not for much longer, for every organ of the body of modern society already has terminal cancer as we are all discovering. And in that condition, how long does the patient have to live? Please therefore make an attempt to learn sustainable morality. If you do not do it today, then you will most certainly do it in the future, either before you die or after you have been resurrected into the next system. |
