Matthew 18:23-34 and the Bankers of Today

Before commenting on Matthew 18 I wanted to pass on this bit of information to you.

On March 6, 1991, President George Herbert Walker Bush, at the conclusion of the Persian Gulf War, uttered some words that shivered down the spines of Americans who appreciated their country as an independent, sovereign experiment in constitutional self-government.

"Now, we can see a new world coming into view – a world in which there is the very real prospect of a New World Order," he said.

He went on to expand on this idea, explaining that he envisioned the United Nations freed "to fulfill the historic vision of its founders."

In 1991, that was scary talk. It sounded like Bush had forgotten what America represented in the world – a nation founded on the principles of independence, the rule of law and accountability to the people, rather than just one of many states responsible to a global community that didn't share its ideals.

Just recently, speaking in Prague, Barack Obama took the "New World Order" rhetoric to soaring new heights.

"All nations must come together to build a stronger, global regime," he said.

Look up the word "regime" in any dictionary and it should give you pause for thought for both of these presidents are preparing the US for it's role in the New World Order, not as a leader but an enabler.

But none of this can be accomplished as long as any nation is strong economically and the will of its people is contrary to such a grandiose plan.   That is why no matter what happens with regard to the financial systems of the world and these ridiculous "bailout plans", they WILL collapse as part of the overall plan demands it.

With that said, Matthew 18:23 – 34 is an interesting parable in that it describes a servant who was let off of his debts of 10,000 talents, but would not let his brother off of his debts of 100 Denarii owed to him.  Now 100 Denarii is equal to 100 days wages which is roughly $15,000 dollars for someone in Western civilization.  In the same token, 10,000 talents of Gold is roughly equivalent to 60 million denarii which is closer to $9 billion dollars.

Have any of you wondered why there is such a huge difference between the two figures?  We have a ratio of nearly 600,000 times here!  Would not a differential of say 10 times or 100 times have been enough to get this point across?

When you consider it, the large debtor is a typical bank and the small debtor is your typical bank borrower.  Now take a look at what has just happened in recent months.  The governments have let the banks off of all of their debt via huge bailout bills, and the banks have responded by persecuting their borrowers even more than before.   They are foreclosing on houses and possessions that they have already been relieved of themselves so are in affect asking to get paid twice for the same debts!

Well we know were these unscrupulous lenders and money changers will end up!

32 Then his master summoned him and said to him, 'Wicked slave, I canceled all that debt for you, when you entreated me.
33 Ought you not, in turn, to have had mercy on your fellow slave, as I also had mercy on you?'
34 With that his master, provoked to wrath, delivered him to the jailers
[Gehenna], until he should pay back [in days] all that was owing [in debts]  (Matthew 18)

So it may take these bankers who were really responsible for the their own demise because of insatiable greed quite a long time before they are let out of Gehenna!!!
